NZCA LINES – Jessica (Loframes Remix)

Fresh from releasing their own single ‘Since You’ve Gone’ and remixing the Elton John featuring ‘Symmetry of 2 Hearts’ by Bright Light Bright Light, fast rising duo Loframes have added their Anglo-French Touch to NZCA Lines ‘Jessica’. Released tomorrow, as part of the ‘Infinite Remixes’ album Loframes’ mix is now streaming on Soundcloud.

Loframes own laid back synth-pop meets disco-house singles and acclaimed remixes for the likes of M83, Miami Horror and Keep Shelly In Athens have put the Brexit defying, cross-channel pair on the radar of the music industry’s tastemakers in 2016. With lots more to come this year including remixes for the likes of Kraak & Smaak, Eau Claire and LEFTI, now is the perfect time to tune into James and Franck’s sound.

Not content with releasing their new single ‘Since You’ve Gone‘ to the kind of reception usually reserved for visiting Royal dignitaries, Anglo-French duo Loframes have now added their sparkling synth pop touch to Bright Light Bright Light’s new single ‘Symmetry of Two Hearts’. ‘Since You’ve Gone’ (feat. Anoraak) is out now on new LA label Midnight in Paris, whilst ‘Symmetry of Two Hearts’ (feat. Elton John!!) is out now on Self Raising Records.

Loframes feat. Anoraak – Since You’ve Gone

Since making their debut in 2015 Anglo-French duo Loframes (London based musician James Yuill & Antibes producer Franck Russo) have quickly established themselves as ones to watch. Their debut single ‘Get Real (Can’t Touch Your Love)’, a stylish mix of synth-pop, deep house and nu-disco won them a legion of fans amongst both DJs, public and press and seen them called upon to remix the likes of M83, Miami Horror, Keep Shelly In Athens amongst many others.

How having topped the Hype Machine charts twice already in 2016 they turn with a brand new single, the effortlessly laid back and stylish ’Since You’ve Gone’. Featuring guest vocals from French Nu-Disco star Anoraak and released via brand new Los Angeles imprint Midnight In Paris ‘Since You’ve Gone’ sees Loframes step away from the dancefloor and repair to their yacht to nurse their broken hearts. Emotional turmoil has never sounded so luxurious.

Accompanying the original are two remixes that retool ‘Since You’ve Gone’ for clubs. Rising Brooklyn star LEFTI swaps the original’s pastel hues for chrome shades, jagged arpeggios and a propulsive beat that transforms the track into the perfect soundtrack for a night drive through a hot city in an impossibly expensive car. Swiss producer Worship meanwhile layers synths upon synths transforming the track into a hymn for the dancefloor and building the track up to an ecstatic disco release.

Jasper Laubscher – Feel Good (Loframes Remix)

Following its release last month, ‘Feel Good‘, the debut single from London based South African producer Jasper Laubscher has been given a fresh poolside remix courtesy of Anglo-French duo Loframes. Dropping the tempo just a touch Loframes have added a synth-pop shine to the track but kept all of the original’s factor 50 beach house vibes.

Mint Royale – Time feat. Tom Cane (Loframes Remix)

Loframes, the duo of British singer, songwriter and producer James Yuill and French producer, and restaurateur, Franck Russo, have just unveiled their new remix of Mint Royale’s ‘Time’, ahead of its official release in April.

It’s the final Mint Royale single after a 20 year career that’s featured UK chart number 1s, fights with Simon Cowell and collaborations with everyone from De La Soul to The Mighty Boosh. The original is a downtempo, poignant number with vocals by Tom Cane but Loframes have upped the tempo and turned it into a primary coloured house track. Check it out below.

Keep Shelly In Athens – Now I’m Ready (Loframes Remix)

Keep Shelly In Athens second album, ‘Now I’m Ready‘, is a shimmering collection of beautiful pop songs, dusted with a light coating of sunshine, magic and unicorn tears. Now the album’s title track has been handed over to up & coming Anglo-French duo Loframes, themselves riding high off the back of their recent Hype Machine topping remix of Miami Horror.

Eschewing their more recent dancefloor focused production Loframes take their cue from the original, keep things nice and easy, put Ocean Hope’s blissed out vocals front and centre and deliver a laid back slice of synthpop perfection.

Miami Horror – Cellophane (Loframes Remix)

Having made a big impact with their debut releases in 2015, Anglo-French duo Loframes (London based singer/songwriter James Yuill and Antibes producer/restauranteur Franck Russo) kickstart the new year with a brand new remix of Australian synth/indie/pop stars Miami Horror’s ‘Cellophane’. The perfect winter pick-me-up, Loframes give the already sunny original an extra injection of sunshine and transforming the track into a sparkling house number sure to raise the temperature on dance floors worldwide.

Releasing their debut, ‘Get Real (Can’t Touch Your Love)’, back in April 2015 to widespread acclaim from press, DJs and the public, Loframes built on that success with their club hit ‘In Love With You’ and remixes for the likes of French Electronic Music pioneer Black Devil Disco Club and British singer David Harks. With several more remixes set for release in the coming months the pair are just putting the finishing touches to their next single due out this spring.

Loframes – In Love With You EP

Following on from the success of their debut single Loframes (London born artist James Yuill and French producer Franck Russo) return with a cover of the classic French House track ‘In Love With You’ by Paradise (Alan Braxe). One of the duo’s favourite tracks, the cover has already received the enthusiastic blessing of Mr Braxe and comes complete with remixes from Parisian producer Monsieur Adi, Brighton’s Aashton and Belgian new-comers Shut Yo Waffle.

It’s out on December 11th. Both the original and Monsieur Adi remixes will be available to download for free ahead of release.

With remix credits for the likes of Lana Del Rey and Bastille, Monsieur Adi is one of France’s most exciting and in-demand producers and his remix of ‘ILWY’ shows just why, lowering the tempo whilst raising the funk to turn in an irresistible remix. Meanwhile having remixed Loframes debut, Brighton’s Aashton returns with another of his trademark club tools, perfect for when you just want to lock the dancefloor in and take them deep into the mix.

Black Devil Disco Club – H Friend (Vox & Dance Remixes)

Celebrating 40 years of electronic music exploration this year saw the re-release of three seminal works by Bernard Fevre (aka Black Devil), ‘Suspense’ (1975), ‘Cosmos 2043’ (1977) and the storied ‘Disco Club’ (1978). Completing this anniversary year Fevre now returns with three EPs featuring new remixes of his 1978 underground cosmic disco hit ‘H Friend’ from the likes of Andrew Weatherall, GoldFFinch, Turzi and many more.

The first EP (released 13 November) is aimed directly at the dancefloor with remixes from Berlin based duo Africaine 808, French Psychedelic Space Rocker Turzi, Sao Paulo’s DJ Tide, and last but not least world famous British Acid House DJ & producer Andrew Weatherall, who contributes the first of two remixes.

The second EP (released 27 November) makes more use of the re-recorded vocals by British singer Jo Apps and features remixes from Adelaide based Luke Million, Belgian Techno duo GoldFFinch, Anglo-French rising stars Loframes and the second of Andrew Weatherall’s remixes.

The final EP (released 11 December) is especially dedicated to Japan. 45 years after touring the country with his first band Francs Garçons, Bernard returned to Japan in 2015 for his first solo tour of Japan and was amazed by the music a new generation of artists were creating. Featuring remixes from Carpainter, Oorutaichi, Free Disco Permanent Midnight and Sparrows (the solo project of CRYSTAL’s Ryota Miyake), it’s a wildly eclectic set of remixes that perfectly finishes off this set.

A pioneering member of France’s electronic music scene in the 1970s, Fevre’s career entered a new phase in the early ‘00s when his ‘Disco Club’ album was rediscovered and reissued by Richard D. James (Aphex Twin) on his Rephlex label. Since then Fevre has gone on to be sampled by the likes of the Chemical Brothers and released several new albums on Lo Recordings collaborating with artists such as Jon Spencer, Afrika Bambaataa, Nancy Sinatra, Faris Badwan (The Horrors), Mondkopf and Daniel Avery

David Harks – Tripping Ghosts (Original + Loframes Remix)

‘Tripping Ghosts’ is the new single from Brighton based singer David Harks, his collaboration with composer/producer Dan Berridge (Broadway Project). Set for release this December on JumJum Records ‘TrippingGhosts’ sees Hark’s haunted vocals weave in and out of a shadowy electronic soundscape, at turns both melancholic and transcendent.

“Tripping Ghosts came out of a period of isolation and reflection,” Explains Harks. “I’d only just moved back to a city I’d left many years before when my partner had to leave for a couple of months and something inside kicked in. I couldn’t help but examine the choices I’d made over the years that I felt could have been different. I was tripping on these ghosts that I thought I’d resolved but here they were back to challenge me one more time.”

“I didn’t feel comfortable producing the song myself. I wanted it to be stark, almost tough to listen to so I asked Dan Berridge, a superb composer from Bristol I had collaborated with on a couple of soundtrack scores, to step in. Dan’s production brings so much emotion and empathy to a song, and he really brought that feeling of raw isolation to the song.”

Alongside the original ‘Tripping Ghosts’ comes with a remix from up and coming Anglo-French duo Loframes (James Yuill & Franck Russo), who transform the track into a sleek, if still dark and affecting, dance track. Harks’ vocals cutting through the bleeps and beats to create the perfect soundtrack for intimate moments of reflection that you sometimes lose yourself in on packed dance floors.

Whilst only Harks’ second solo release his CV includes playing in bands such as The Hat (signed to Rob da Bank’s Sunday Best label) and with artists like Laura Marling and collaborations with the likes of Amorphous Androgynous and Andy Barlow from Lamb. Now pursuing a solo career his debut EP, ‘Lomo’, featured on sites around the world including DIY and Hilly Dilly, and the track ‘We’ was used for the closing titles of the recent documentary series ‘Secret Lives of Americans’.
