PHANTOGRAM 2017 TOUR DATES

Following the success of their recently released third studio LP, Three (out now on Republic) and sold-out live dates across North America, Europe and Austraia, Phantogram are excited to announce a new leg of North American and European tour dates for Spring 2017. The tour kicks off in Honolulu on February 25th and includes stops at some of the year’s biggest music festivals, including Coachella, Sasquatch!, Middlelands and Governors Ball, while winding across select cities in Europe through June 4th (full tour dates below).  More dates to be announced soon!

The news comes just after the band kicked off 2017 with a fresh A-Trak remix of their hit song “You Don’t Get Me High Anymore” featuring Joey Purp, a cover of Radiohead’s “Weird Fishes / Arpeggi” for Triple J radio in Australia and a live-streamed Billboard  performance.

Phantogram – Weird Fishes / Arpeggi (Radiohead cover)

Phantogram are diving into 2017 with two new releases for fans- the first is a fresh take on their hit song “You Don’t Get Me High Anymore” from remix legend A-Trak, with an additional verse from SaveMoney Crew’s Joey Purp. The remix will be available for purchase and on all streaming services tomorrow but you can preview now via XXL.

While recently in Australia on tour, Phantogram recorded a cover of Radiohead’s “Weird Fishes”, in addition to their own song “Cruel World”, for Triple J radio, which aired today.

Another new Phantogram track just hit the web taken from their album Three (Republic) out October 7th. As Sarah Barthel told Complex, ” ‘Cruel World’…is about how tragic life can be at times – how the world can bring you down… But you have to try to find the beauty in it sometimes.”

Phantogram – Run Run Blood

Momentum continues to build toward the release of Phantogram’s third studio album, Three (out this fall on Republic), today with the release of the new track “Run Run Blood” – listen now below. On the track, the Phantogram told Stereogum, “Run Run Blood is about the sad state of the world we live in today. It feels like the blind leading the blind sometimes.”.

“You Don’t Get Me High Anymore is about the loneliness in superficial relationships and that feeling of not being able to find happiness in places that were once so easy to come across. The desolation in Bombay Beach represents that feeling really well. The area was once a promising vacation spot before the droughts and now it’s a ghost town. We were excited that Grant [Singer] picked that spot, he understood the aesthetic of the song right off the bat and ran with it.” – via FADER

Since the release of their 2014 album Voices, Phantogram have trekked across the globe playing live shows and festival dates, contributed features to everyone from A-Trak to Miley Cyrus and been sampled by Kanye West, The Game and A$AP Rocky, as well as releasing their debut BIG GRAMS LP with good friend and musical partner in crime, Big Boi of Outkast. The New York bred duo made writing stops at home and in Atlanta before picking back up in Los Angeles to record Three. Carter and Barthel shared duties on production and vocals, melding elements of rock, pop, hip-hop and electronic. The resulting sound leans darker and more psychedelic yet with some of the brightest and most introspective pop melodies they’ve delivered to date, truly making them genre-defying artists for the 21st century.

Phantogram – Black Out Days (Future Islands Remix)

New York synth-pop duo Phantogram  is on the road this summer supporting their recent Republic Records release “Voices”, which was called “an epochal album, a generational capstone that will reside in playlists for a generation to come” by The Associated Press.

Recorded in Los Angeles with co-producer John Hill (Santigold, MIA), “Voices”  follows up the group’s celebrated full-length debut Eyelid Movies [2010, Barsuk] and Nightlife EP [2011, Barsuk], which established them as one of music’s most intriguing indie outfits. Soon, the likes of The Flaming Lips and Big Boi [Outkast] began seeking them out for studio collaborations. Republic Records also recognized their spirit and joined forces with them in 2013.

Phantogram – Bill Murray

New York synth duo Phantogram have shared the fifth track from their forthcoming album, “Bill Murray.” The band’s Josh Carter said that he and singer Sarah Barthelalways pictured a sad Bill Murray as the visual accompaniment to the song, thus necessitating the title. The "Voices" LP is out February 18.
