MODERAT ANNOUNCE MORE D4TA

Moderat and Monkeytown Records are happy to welcome you to the next chapter. Back in 2017, Moderat announced an extended break following a final concert in their hometown Berlin in front of 17.000 people – and now they return.

The new album is called MORE D4TA, features ten new tracks and is scheduled for release on May 13, 2022. After spending the better part of two decades making music together, Sascha Ring (Apparat), Gernot Bronsert & Sebastian Szary (Modeselektor) carved out a sound and aesthetic that are all their own, and MORE D4TA showcases a group that’s creatively recharged and fully dedicated to its craft.

In addition to the already announced tour dates, the band will start their return to the live stages with two exclusive premiere shows in Leipzig and Cologne. Limited tickets including ticket/album-bundles are available now:
18.05. Leipzig – Werk 2
19.05. Cologne – Carlswerk Victoria

MORE D4TA will be available in three different physical formats (Deluxe & Standard Vinyl, CD) and pre-orders are open here.

Modeselektor presents: Work

Created in an unforgiving year, “Work” became a refuge, a place to find solace from the outside world. The inescapable thump of Modeselektor’s “Extended” left me embodying mundane tasks so intensely that not only did these tasks become important but their original purpose was forgotten, the “doing” more significant than any result. I rediscovered the intention of simple tasks to create my reality without regard to any past. I structured “Work” in a way that asks the performer not to “perform”, but to drench themselves in a state of process. By fully embodying each task I find myself in a minefield of emotion. “Work” is an exorcism of boredom in both its creation and in its practice. One will undoubtedly reflect and feel different from before it all began…. again + again… from a lonely pew.

Modeselektor – Who Else

Here comes more essential Modeselektor accompanying the duo’s new album. Rarely has a pair of tracks been more representative of their creators. „Who“ underscores their reputation as pioneers of boundary-pushing popular electronic music, keeping it real while keeping it fresh, appealing and inclusive. Featuring Estonian rapper Tommy Cash on vocals, „Who“ is a frantic and melodic tune, showing a love for the spectacular and no fear of of pop. „Else“ is the perfect atmospheric flip side, picking up similar sounds but going for subtle sonic experimentation over an emotionally charged broken beat. It’s Modeselektor’s universe in a nutshell. Always familiar, never the same.

Modeselektor – Kalif Storch

modeselektor

Modeselektor will release their new “Modeselektion Vol. 04” compilation on 1st June 2018 via Monkeytown Records x Ninja Tune. It features 17 exclusive tracks including the first new Modeselektor production since 2015 – a wild acid techno track ‘Kalif Storch’ – named after the nightclub of the same name in Erfurt, Germany.

From exciting upstarts such as Skee Mask, rRoxymore, Solid Blake and Sarah Farina to exalted visionaries Peder Mannerfelt, Vatican Shadow and Actress, “Modeselektion Vol. 04” is a direct reflection of Modeselektor’s genre-defying DJ sets which, at their heart, celebrate invention, innovation and hybridity combined with a hearty commitment to moving dancefloors. Indeed, this has been the ethos from the inaugural release in the Modeselektion series in 2010.
